The lancero El Triunfador brown label. Best NC smoke I've had in the past few years.

If I was absolutely forced to add NC's into my rotation it would have to be any of the Paul Garmirian sticks, nothing else.

Old thread.  Just wanted to chime in on two NC brands that I’ve been enjoying the heck out of lately.....Warped(RS 1988 and La Colmena), and Caldwell(Eastern Standard from 2014 and Long Live The King)

1. Illusione Singulare Miserere 2. Illusione Haut 10 3. Illusione ECCJ 20th 4. Illusione Epernay Le Ferme 5. Illusione Cruzado In fairness, if money didn't matter Padron Famil

Far away from any kinda rotation but time to time out from the rest of my nc's.

Flor De las Antillas (liked it younger a lot more)

My Father Le Bijou 1922

Oliva V,G

I'm not sure if I'd continue to smoke all of these or not:

Agree with the original Costa Rican rolled Bahias - Trinidad and Gold

An offshoot ( kind of ) of those - the early Doug Puringer produced Bucaneros

La Unica Cameroon Series

Original production Vega Talanga Corojo Series - an all Honduran cigar

AVO Domaine No.s 30 & 40

Actually hat's off to Alec Bradley. He produced a Principe cigar ( I can't recall) that was pure butter and cream. I still remember it. Given it is 20.000 cigars later, no small feat. Great box.

Sir that would be Prensado

I can still remember the Honduran Hoyo de Monterrey cigar called "DREAMS" They were coronas and came packaged w/o cello in a 50 count natural cabinet. What a great cigar it was.

Another was Hoyo de Monterrey "Cuban Largo" made only in maduro. Dalia size. Great rough and tumble cigar. Along the lines of the Cazadores.

Totally agree with the La Gloria Wavell. Glorious cigars back then.

The Puros Indios had already jumped the shark before I got around to trying it. :(

Opus X #2s,

Illusione rothchildes - great rotation smokes

Viaje Antidote - new smoke I just added they are damned tasty.

Padron 1964 Maduro - such an consisant product they put out.

Tat - TAA2012s I want to say. ( I do like the org black gordas though also, or the black lance in the old man and the C.)

Have had more misses than hits with the NCs I've tried over the last 4 years but there are a few I would happily find a permanent spot for in my humi. My top 5 are:-

AF Rosado Sungrown Magnum R54

Liga Privada T9 Robusto

Toscano (all)

Sultan Cigars Edmundos (best Indonesian cigar IMHO)

Honourable mentions go to:-

Carlos Torano Exodus Silver Edition Robusto Corto

Diesel Shorty

Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon Torpedo

3 Reynas Robusto

CAO Italia Novella

Anything Liga Privada no 9 for me and the Monster Line from Tatuaje. Good friend Orson Welles was kind enough to give me some and the strictly cuban cigar smoker in me was flabbergasted by the incredible quality of these sticks.

Opus x perfecxion No 2 ............still one of the best cigars I have had.

Oliva serie v double robusto

Ashton VSG Torpedo

Padron Family Reserve no 46

La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor belicoso

Hardly ever smoke non Cubans or purchase them at all of late .

Damn do we have similar tastes. This could easily double as my list. The Oliva V double robusto was my first true love in the cigar world, and I will always have them on hand.

I love different wrappers as a change of pace to Cubans.

Fuente Hemmingway Classic - Cameroon goodness

Tatuaje PCR - if you haven't tried these I urge you to.

Liga UF13

L'attelier anything

A wild card; Mario Palomino. These used to be Jamaican and now are blended with some of it but I find them super creamy and delicious. Cheap as chips.

Plenty of decent NCs it just that you end up with overflowing humis of stuff you don't like trying to sample a wide variety of them.

The only NC in my rotation was Villa Zamorano (well made cheapos by Flor de Selva; I don't believe they're imported in North America);

Recently I have added the Illusione Rothchild, a great Q/P ratio and they always deliver;

Next NC addition might the Fuente Short Story or Chateau Fuente.

I'm not interested in the "premium" NCs.

I'm still working on building up a stock of CC's so my collection is primarily NC, but these five I always like to have quite a few on hand.

  • Fuente Hemingway Short Story
  • Curivari El Gran Rey
  • My Father El Centurian
  • Camacho Connecticut (original blend, not the new garbage)
  • Regius Black Label robusto or corona.

I have a few of these in the Lancero format with about 10 years of age on them. Truly amazing cigars.

In no particular order:

1. WOAM-I have a box from 2008 that is outstanding. I don't dip into these too often but I am always well rewarded when I do.

2. Tatuaje El Triunfador OR- I am no Tat *****, but I love this cigar. I only have about 8-9 left in my box, so I am trying to pace myself.

3. Padron 1964 Principe Maduro- I like these fresh as they tend to lose a lot off their fastball with age on them, imo.

4. Liga Privada- I really like this line, but like the Padron Anni's, I am not too fond of the price point, but they do age better than the Anni's

5. Illusione Epernay- another great NC line. Very balanced and flavorful. They don't try to blast you into Nicotine oblivion like most NC's tend to do these days.

I don't smoke these cigars too often but I am rarely disappointed when I do.
