Top 5 NC's you would have in your rotation.

Recommended Posts

I have really enjoyed the Davidoff Colorado Claro (Short Perfecto and Special R). Lights out cigars in my opinion.

To round out the top five: El Triunfador Lancero, Padron Family Reserve 45 Years, and lastly the Warped El Oso PaPa.

If I was absolutely forced to add NC's into my rotation it would have to be any of the Paul Garmirian sticks, nothing else.

Old thread.  Just wanted to chime in on two NC brands that I’ve been enjoying the heck out of lately.....Warped(RS 1988 and La Colmena), and Caldwell(Eastern Standard from 2014 and Long Live The King)

1. Illusione Singulare Miserere 2. Illusione Haut 10 3. Illusione ECCJ 20th 4. Illusione Epernay Le Ferme 5. Illusione Cruzado In fairness, if money didn't matter Padron Famil

I know I'm chiming in a bit late to the thread, but here are my top 5 NC's (in no particular order):

- Most of the Opus X line (exceptional with 4+ years of aging on them)

- Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Presidentes

- E. P. Carillo 2010 and 2011 Short Runs (if you can find them) His "Cardinal" line isn't too bad of a substitute for a regular production stick.

- CLE Cuarenta (Great little Honduran cigar for a morning or early afternoon smoke)

- Quesada Oktoberfest (Specifically blended to be paired with beer, especially Marzen style beers).

Cubans have turned my life around. Now, when I return to an NC it is just hot, harsh, burning grass. That being said . . . there are still a few that I would gladly smoke and give me something to enjoy while I try my best to keep my hands off the CCs and allow them to age:

1. Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story

2. Liga Privada T52 (probably toro)

3. My Father No. 3

4. Oliva Master Blends 3

5. Headley Grange Estupendos

Haven't bought more than a stick or two of NC in almost four yrs.

Used to smoke a fair amount of oliva v's and padrons.

When I hit the states b and m's now I usually grab a tatuaje.

I am quite surprised no one has mentioned Dunhill.

Well, my list is quite short when it comes to NC's.

1. Oliva V Double Robustos

2. Dunhill Signed Series Robustos (other vitolas aren't nearly as good)

3. Padron 5000 series Maduro

4. Nat Shermans ( heard they are pretty good and have some in my humidor)

5. Alec Bradley Black Market Robusto (though I have encountered inconsistency)

Any 5 Gurkhasrotfl.gif

It's hard to name just 5,but here goes.

1.Anejo 46

2.Oliva Melanio Petit Corona

3.DPG Blue Demitasse

4.My Father #4

5.Diesel Corona

My favorite NCs are no longer produced,The Pepin made Padilla Miami, and the La Aurora Cien Anos.

The Pepin made Padilla Miami were the ****! Find the ones with Padilla written in block letters. As good as any smoke from anywhere. Very hard to find now.

Anyone else smoking some of these newer boutique NCs?....some are pretty damn good.

Oliva: Nub, Serie V, Serie V Melanio, Serie G Maduro
Padron: x000 Maduro series
Arturo Fuente: Magnum series Rosado Sungrown
there are more delicious non-Cuban cigars such as Opus X, Padron 19xx, Atabey.... but when I look at their price, I buy for that price even more delicious outstanding Cuban cigars

In my humidor now:

Tatuaje Petit Reserva

Padron Lonsdale Maduro

Perdomo 10th anniversary Maduro

Hemmingway Classic

The first two I will spend money on and are in my rotation. The Perdomos are no longer made and I have enough Hemmingway that I will probably not buy any again for many, many years. The first two are a fantastic value and IMO truly excellent cigars.

1. Toss up: Padron 64' in Natural principe. Padron Family Reserve 50 in Natural

2. Ashton VSG Belicoso

3. Arturo Fuente Anejo Shark

4.Tatuaje chuck skinny monsters.

5. My Father Flor de Las Antillas

I have a stash that I gradually go through when I want to mix it up a little. But I can't see myself actively trying to replenish any of my non cubans for a long time. These dont' really disappear anymore. I really just don't feel like having spice bombs very often anymore. Tatuajes do have a nice chocolate flavor profile I can't get from other brands though. The utility that I would get from $30 on a Padron Family Reserve isn't worth what I could get in Cubans for the same price point. I guess my tastes have gotten more mild as I age.
