Puros Y Vino
I've reached out to an expert in tobaccaina collectibles.. Amir (of Partagas El Libro, fame). His take is this might be from the 1930's New Jersey era. If the inner lid is "milk glass". Very interesting. It seems the La Corona factory rolled Cuban tobacco in New Jersey as it was cheaper to import the raw leaf and roll it local vs import the final product. finecigar
I have seen one of these before with some cigars! I am pretty sure is from late 60s/early 70s, so post embargo non cuban. Nonetheless is a cool looking box

CanuckSARTech
Very very nice, Frank. Cool piece. Had I known fully what I was picking up for you on that shopping run, it might have "disappeared in the mail"!!!! LOL.
Puros Y Vino
UPDATE: Another person helping me unravel the source/history of this humidor is Rob Fox of JJ Fox. He passed my photos along to a friend who gave the following assessment. I think the felt on the base is a giveaway that it did not originate in Cuba. In my opinion it was made by the Corona factory in Miami for the restaurant or bar trade Still, a steal in my book. I've already begun fixing it up as well. Will post progress pictures over the next few weeks.
