Popular Post dflan82 Posted April 20, 2016 Popular Post Share Posted April 20, 2016 I picked up a box of the Sancho Panza Belicosos with the same box code a while ago on a 24:24 and recently had it shipped out. They arrived last week and I lit one up that afternoon and have subsequently smoked two more. (I almost always let the cigars acclimatize for around 30 - 60 days, but couldn't keep my hands off these buggers). I was actually going to write up a review on these for the Rocking My Jock contest, but my wife's Grandmother got out of the hospital so we spend the weekend with her and some family. Now, I don't know if I have ever picked up a piece of driftwood and licked it but I can't imagine it being that enjoyable. (Of course the next piece of driftwood I come across, I will be forced to give it a quick taste ) The cigars on the other hand have been terrific. All three from this box have smoked beautifully with intermingling flavors of cream, golden toasted marshmallow, light wood and a dash of salt here and there (though not nearly as much as the Molinos). I also experienced some pleasant floral notes every so often but they were gone as quickly as they came. These SP Beli's and the SP Molinos transport me back to the days of fishing in a row boat with my dad when I was a kid. He wasn't smoking Cuban's, but there is something so simple and specific about the aroma of these Sancho Panza cigars that brings back fond memories. Kinda funny how certain smells and sounds can do that. Anyway, I'd give the ones I've sampled from this box 92-93 points and I look forward to lighting up another one. Remember the scent of the place when you were inside? That's "driftwood!" One of the interesting aspects of this cigar (at least to me) is the sweetness that you get if you draw very gently and slowly. Pull on it normally and it disappears. There's just something so cool and rustic about the way this cigar looks, too. So, that salty component (driftwood, of course) is something I really like in a cigar as well so very interested in getting my hands on some.
