Beautiful draw with a touch of welcome resistance. Perfect. This is going to be good. First 3rd: Earthy barnyard with a touch of bright sweetness that stays on my pallet post-retrohale. Thick smoke bellows out. A gray toothy ash breaks off neatly at the end of the first third. Wonderful. Second 3rd: Body picks up a bit with a welcome change in flavor. The sweetness has increased with a tiny bit of zest. Burn remains perfect. Final 3rd: Hello, black cherry. I was wondering where that sweetness was coming from. The cigar really opens up for the finale with a bit of mild pepper. There is minimal heat as the smoke approaches its conclusion. Construction remains flawless and smoke still pours out. Conclusion: Just a great cigar, especially considering its youth. Steady notes of barnyard musk and increasingly strong black cherry notes. Pepper comes in as the curtain closes.
