Bolivar Review Competition - BRC 2014

Recommended Posts

I got this box last year and although it's not a bad box I can't say I was overly impressed with it so far.

Let's give this another go!

1st third:

Good draw, but burns a little unevenly. Metallic taste a the beginning as well as freshly cut grass. The metallic taste quickly makes way to wooden notes and pepper. Construction is not perfect, but coud be worse - you can judge from the 2nd picture.

2nd third:

I am used to a "nutty" taste at some point when I smoke a BRC... Still more wood (cedar?) and spices.  Burn is not the greatest, but nothing alarming.

Final third:

Full body; getting the raw in your face Bolivar flavor, just not really complex. Now tasting the hazelnut, still lots of wood. Nice finish to a cigar that didn't meet my expecations.

I'll smoke the next ones a few months down the road.
