treberty
Hello, Going to London next month for a few days and I thought I would ask this question - at Rob's suggestion. Thanks in advance for the input!
Popular Post ChanceSchmerr
From a Canadian who lived there for 18 months - I'm sure some local mates could be more specific! 1. J.J. Fox in St. James - Finest tobacconist in the land, and a wonderful tasting room upstairs. Don't miss the museum down below. Start here - you'll never be disappointed. If you're there for Friday the 13th, there is always a special event - call or email ahead! 2. Dunhill in Mayfair - Good Walk-in humidor, but they are often going through a locker for sales, and will show you some rare and exceptional cigars if you ask. Lovely Cigar terrace too. 3. The Wellesley Cigar Terrace - Great cigar terrace and good whisky list, some fantastically rare cigars to be seen in their humidor. Still my favorite terrace, even though I'll never be able to afford my white whale that they have (La Flor de Cano Diademas - £800 a stick ) 4. Dunhill Cigar shop, St. James - Good walk-in and lots of accessories. I've never been to the smoking lounge inside but heard it's good. 5. No. 10 Manchester St. - Lovely cigar terrace, good whisky list. Great hotel if you're looking for a place to stay, my wife and I stayed there before we moved away late last year. 6. Cadenhead's Whisky Shop, Marylebone - Go there and buy a Springbank whisky. You'll not find a better malt to pair with your cigar than a Springbank (15 yr is best). Say hi to Steve and Richard from the Tall, Blond Canadian who used to live nearby 7. Boisdale at Belgravia - I love the Cigar terrace above, and the Jazz music below. Sometimes it's tough to get into either, members have first cut. If you can get in, it's well worth it. The restaurant has lovely food if you're peckish. 8. Bulgari Cigar Lounge - I never got a chance to go in, but I have a standing invite to eventually go with some mates next time I'm in. I've heard nothing but good things. 9. Stroll Green Park, Hyde Park or Regents park with a Cigar - One of my favorite things to do in a city with so much hustle and bustle, yet with large open parks. Weather dependent, of course!!! 10. Walk along Embankment with a Cigar starting from Parliament - London begins with the Thames. As long as it's not raining, the Thames is a lovely companion for a great cigar. And a Bonus one... 11. Soho Whisky Club/Cigar Club - find a friend who is a member and ask him/her to take you up. Ridiculous whisky selection and a great heated terrace to smoke the evening away in magnificent company. It is Members-only - you need to find a member to let you in. Hope that helps, mate!

Drguano
If you are up for a short train ride, go see Ajay at his LCDH in Teddington. He usually has some singles of aged stock for sale and a wide selection of regionals. Be prepared for sticker shock as British prices are steep. If you fly into Heathrow and. like me, want to start your trip with a cigar, take the X26 express bus from Hatton Cross station. The first stop is Teddington High Street and the LCDH is a five-minute walk further along. There is a free bus from the LHR terminals to Hatton Cross. I also love J.J. Fox in St. James who usually has some old stock as well. The smoking lounge is quite pleasant as is the staff.
