Happy New Year! Any Plans?

Recommended Posts

Happy New Year to you all!  No plans here.  We stay home for "amateur" night. :)  No cigars unfortunately due to incoming weather.  The garage may be a possibility if the winds stay down.  Will see what comes.  Hope you all have a great time and post pics. And I never make it to midnight. I am an early to bed, early to rise guy.

staying safe and cozy at home and watching the fire works from around the country / world

with the channel set to watch the million plus knuckle heads standing in times square NY

waiting for the ball to drop in sub zero degree weather.

I'll be puffing on one of many 24:24 smokes I have with a little drinky winky to go with it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR MATES......................

Haven't celebrated family christmas bc my in laws had their turn, so traditional family christmas tmrw morning, then having the sisters and their husbands out to my favorite sushi place to gorge ourselves on raw fish, followed by a Bushido and my couch.

Giving my dad the Stones in Cuba Blu Ray CD combo along with the wooden Don Quixote statue I brought back for him.  He helped me pull an all nighter in 7th grade doing a Don Quixote book report.  He'd have liked to join me in Cuba for that show but it was a tad too adventurous for his tastes.

What a cracker holiday at the beach :D

Di's sisters (Lisa/Lucy) and families arrived yesterday in preparation for New Years.

I will be cooking up a big seafood paella, drinks will be flowing, cigars a billowing all with the rolling surf in front.  I haven't made it to midnight all week....and I seriously doubt today will be any different :D

Let us know what your plans are and if the opportunity arises, post a photo or two. We will put them into the Christmas Photo Thread comp.

Have a great New Year!!!!

Rob

I plan to spend New Year's Eve with my family, just a quiet one at my brother-in-law's place since we did Christmas. I hope to smoke one of the 2016 Xmas Sampler cigars, of which I've enjoyed 2 so far.

Incidentally @El Presidente, I appreciate your top 25 listing, but are you planning on doing a reference thread (like a Rob's Top 25 cigars of 2016 - perhaps when you get back next week) where you go into a little detail on each choice, like in previous years? I thought I'd jump in and ask, as I'm guessing a few members would be curious to know.

Will pop into downtown Santa Cruz for a bit and then hang out at a friend's house - not sure if there will be much chance for smoking. Right now I'm not even sure that I can stay awake until midnight - running on zero sleep and at the airport for my 6.5hr flight back from Miami to San Francisco since 4am local time :(

Happy new year all!  A true paella is on my bucket list now.  Not an easy dish to find due to the involved preparation.

Thanks for the top 25 Pres.  Nice to see QDO Corona and SLR Regio make the cut.  I'll echo JohnS on the desire for a full rundown after you have gotten back and settled in.  I see it less as a buy list and more of a historical marker of what HSA was doing well in a particular year - perhaps the only legit one in the world.   I find it fascinating to watch the ebb and flow of vitola quality.

Wifie and I doing the home thing start with a roaring fire - Canada vs US (world junior hockey) - starts at 3pm, followed by a raclette supper and a movie.

We'll see if we make it to midnight! LOL

New years day is always french champagne, and eggs benny for breakfast.

Happy new year everyone!!!

That paella looks amazing!

I'm up at my cabin in the Catskills with the family. We have a few fireworks and I've got some short cigars to smoke (because it's very cold). I'll light up one of my favorites, a 2014 MdO4 around 11:30 and I'll probably be snoring by 1. There's supposed to be a comet visible near the moon at midnight too if the clouds abate.

Looks like a Bob Ross painting, doesn't it...?

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Happy little trees... ; )

I watched a bit of TV. Had a cup of tea and was in bed by 11pm.

Rock on.

You wild man.

I don't know who at Channel 9 (Sydney) is the sick demented mind behind this, but for at least the last 20 yrs, "Can't Stop The Music" has been shown at midnight right after New Year's. As always, I try as hard as I might to avoid watching, but some nutjob in the house (regardless of who's house I'm at) will put this on.

Luckily enough, this year I was at home, and avoided it by playing some New Year's Battlefield 1 on the Xbox!

Yeah I saw it was on, gave it a wide birth. I see enough hard hats at work.
