CC market share in Europe; prevalence of NCs in Europe?

Which is odd as I believe the status of the LCDH franchise specifies that habanos must be a majority…

LCDH at Düsseldorf started off as cigar world, then it got awarded the "Habanos Specialists" award in Germany. I'm assuming sometime later, they bought the rights to be called LCDH. Maybe there's a "grandfather" clause that allows them to continue to sell NC cigars.

From the owner of LCDH Stuttgart: as a LCDH, CCs have to have their own walk-in humidor. If the store wants to sell NC, they have to be in a completely separate humidor.

Unless you and I are referring to different magazines, there's been no change. Cigar Journal was started with the mission to help European cigar consumers get more information about NC cigars, more than a decade ago.

Havent you seen any diference from 2-3 years to now?

 You simply forget L'Amateur de Cigares and its annual Havanoscope. The paper edition can be found in most LCDH in EUrope.

https://www.cigars-connect.com/cigars-home/

and Cigaroscope (for NCs)

What is "oops" in French?

Veuillez m'excuser pour cet oubli.

To shed some light into this:

They started out as Cigarworld selling Cubans and Non-Cubans. Then Cigarworld became a Habanos Specialist and after this they opened a LCDH in the same building but upstairs. Same owners but two different company. They have two entrances, two humidors (the LCDH one obviously only sells cubans, the one on the ground floor sells cubans and non-cubans), plus two homepages.

Hope this helps.

I've been there once, it worths a visit if you're there. Second floor is filled with CCs and quite incredible stock of some items, most cigars are on the ground floors, amazing NCs stock too.

That's why LCDH logo were "there" lol.

I thought in Germany, Habanos sales are well under 50% the total cigar market.  Don't forget all the short fill Euro brands that are quite popular throughout Europe.  I'd imagine Habanos is similarly under 50% across EMEA.  I bet Habanos has a large percentage of the market in APAC.

This figure has little meaning, since you're talking about two different market segments. Habanos (=premiums) and the machine made/short filler (which sell by billions, mainly in Germany and Benelux) are separately accounted for. In the premium market habanos are still dominant.

LCDH Tijuana has NCs in the walk-in.

I think the LCDH in Montreal has an NC section in their secondary walk-in.  The cigar shops in Singapore offer a good representation of NC's.  They really narrow it down to good brands only for the NC selection.
