Cigar smoking was allowed inside and I was friends with uber-rich middle eastern college students that would blow 50-100k a month on partying. One guy's 21st birthday, we ordered 21 bottles of Dom and 400 shots. Keep in mind the club was open from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM; so not a lot of time to be festive. You can not make a magazine like that and expect it only to be about cigars, someone who enjoys a magazine like GQ or any other "manly" magazine wouldn't read it. That wouldn't be bad, but a magazine can't survive on only cigar smokers. If I want to read something cigar nerdish I just go to halfwheel or any other cigar focussed website.Further more I think cigars can be enjoyed, with or without the sportscar (I drive a Ford focus, go figure) or being dresses up nicely (I'm more a t-shirt and jeans guy). If you can have it all more power to you, I'm a simple guy enjoying cigars who aren't ment for me according to media like CA. Wife sending you outside to have a cigar so she can watch TV. Not affording Behikes. Drawer full of too many boxes of matches and splinters of cedar. Lighters that stopped working years ago. Dried up boveda packs. Bottle of distilled water as a paper weight. Hygrometers with run down batteries. Old CA magazines in the shelf. Membership card to some long gone cigar club. Having no idea what to smoke. Cherishing that one stick. Always photos of cigar in the digital photo album holiday rotation. We started talking cigars and he mentioned he went to a very exclusive private cigar club in the city. I told him I received a membership there as a gift but that I've never gone since it made no sense to me to go through the pain of driving into downtown Chicago to enjoy a cigar. The guy almost keeled over and called a friend to say he "just met someone that was so rich, they thumbed their nose at "the club"". I guess some people view cigars as a status symbol of sorts. That's not me. I just sit on my patio, play my tunes, and maybe have a neighbor join me to see if we can find that cigar magic for the day while we have a few laughs discussing how everything would be better if we "ran things". 😁 4 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know a lot of ponytails wannabes, believe or not some of my cigars are bigger than their dicks 😉 I love my cigars, good food, good wine & champagne and cherish good company. Maybe I chase it with a 20yo Lanceros. Cigars are a food group. They are a small portion of life that should be about personal enjoyment, however anyone sees it. Cigars are better when affordable. They are not precious, except in smoking, they are not art, except by the artist handcraft that made it, they are not valuable, except in the small glimpses of luxury (time spent purely for enjoyment) that, at least at one time in history, all could afford. Cigar lifestyle goes against all that I think a cigar is and should be. I think what RP posted is 'stupid money' lifestyle. This is/was found generally by: 'rocker/celebrity' types.
