Hats off to Liverpool...

A mate invited me out for drinks on the weekend, said, among other things, he was going out with a couple of mad Liverpool fans to watch the Champions League final. And I went, wait, what, Liverpool made it to the final!!?? How did that happen? While travelling I didn't get the chance to follow the final games and results as I would've liked. And, to be honest, as a Chelsea supporter, my interest was pretty limited. 

Anyhow, finding out that Liverpool are in the final was a shock, but it' also a grand thing... I love it when a club's pedigree and culture seemingly propels them beyond the odds to achieve such results. The Reds certainly have a rich history in Europe and I can think of no better result than them using that wealth to stick it to the big knobs in Madrid. 

I may well haul my sorry arse out of bed on Sunday morning and join the lads at the casino to watch the game... Or, let's be honest, the couch and tv are strong contenders, too. In any case, hoping for a cracking game!

And it was, indeed. Three goals to go down in history.... Alas, against the Reds. A bit sorry to see them lose that way. Having to take Mo out turned the game at an early stage. Congrats to Real! Once again!

The scramble for Bale is on. What an impact he made. And he also made it clear what he thought of being left on the bench!

Felt sorry for the poor old Liverpool keeper. What a night to have your worst game ever. ☹️
