Popular Post mtd057 Posted October 22, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted October 22, 2018 My first Rugby match this past weekend with the family at the Women's Seven in Glendale, Colorado. I have to say other than not knowing all the rules, we had a fantastic time. Great sport, very exciting and I think it was enough to get my 16 year old son interested in playing. Not to mention he got to meet and take pics with some of the players. I was impressed with the athleticism of these ladies - especially the speed. Those girls can run! I haven't played some of these games in more than 30 years! Today I took in a tour of the USS Hornet in Alameda. I was looking forward to a bit of rest and culture; visit the Louvre, take in the sights, enjoy the cafe scene.... but no. The other half had a very specific week in mind so it was off to Disney and lots of shopping. I did manage to get into a few B&Ms though and Paris is great for a cigar and people watching so it’s not all bad. Returning to work was a bit of a shock to the system today. Here's a short-list of places to pick from: Pyramids of the Sun and Moon (Teotihuacan) Chapultepec Castle (and Park) Angel of Independence Frida Khalo's House La Condesa/Polanco Historic Center Great Pyramid of Tenochtitlán Floating Gardens of Xochimilco I did not go to the race, but that would explain why the airport was so packed at 5am Saturday . We attended a wedding in more rural Texcoco at some 500 year-old hacienda. If you're up for some INSANE barbacoa, look for El Pica I in La Purificación just outside the city. Lastly, don't forget to pick up a box of Edmundo Dantes Conde Belicoso at the airport, they are phenomenal albiet pricey.
