Yeah, yeah, another RE. I find this one to be fairly interesting though. I always find that Switzerland does a pretty good job with the quality of their REs as well.

Thoughts?

I think these are going to be worth the hype, I rarely buy any RE LE, but these and the UK's La Reina might be pick ups for me

I agree. They need to make more REs in those sizes. Maybe re-release the Selectos Finos too lol

I checked a couple of vendors in CH and did not see this cigar in their inventory yet.  When should they have them?

They are supposed to arrive in LCDH shops by the 14 and Habanos specialists the 21. Online maybe by the end of the month I'd guess.

If history is any guide, any ER 109s are always worth picking up. They're either very good, highly sought after or both.

Swiss, so these will be easily purchased worldwide. I'd expect these to disappear relatively quickly.

$22 for the 5 1/2 x 48 RG88.

$29 for the LGC Suiza 7 1/2 x 50 109.

Yeah, I think these are gonna move.

Yes, these are actually not bad at all for price per gram compared to some of the recent insane prices for much smaller ERs.

Even the PL Coronas are $12 each and those weigh almost exactly half of a 109 and they're being considered a good deal for an ER. In fact, A Coronas weigh almost exactly the same as a Britanicas (RG 88) and the price of the 88 is 150% more than the PLC with no real reason to justify it.

Wish they would have used the leaf to make more MD02's....

Me too, but I think we should start preparing our eulogies for the MdO2. Can't recall any cigar reappearing after 4+ years of absence. That, the SLR DC and Hoyo DD are probably toast. At this point, they are consciously choosing not to make them. If we don't see any if these by mid-19 after the great 16 and 17 crops they're done.

They're cranking out a ton of special production LGC lately and HSA has shown no reluctance in taking a marca down to one model (Dip). I think the writing's on the wall, unfortunately.

Well, sure!  Why waste resources making former average, run-of-the-mill, regular offerings when you can make bank on limited edition, double-banded selections in relatively minute quantities?  ?

Not just yet. I have heard rumors and innuendo about new SLR DC...

Hmm...well, that would certainly be a welcome bit of news.

And after 5 years there's absolutely no reason they shouldn't be spectacular.

Boy, I would really love to know what they do with all that tobacco. Knowing what and where Cuban tobacco is allocated is knowledge on par with the Coca Cola formula.

I've liked all the CH regionals I have had to date.

I would agree with this, apart from the Juan Lopez Eminentes. The ones i've had were the most 'non present' cigars i've ever had.  Literally like smoking hot air, and for such a big cigar, thats a lot of hot air!!

Its nice to see another 109 - one of my favorite sizes. That coupled with prior good experiences with Swiss regionals means I'll be in the market. Hopefully, the prices stay somewhat close to what halfwheel is reporting.

Man, I am so happy to have stashed away enough regular production when it still was - ... well,... 'regular'. :lifepreserver:

Gurkha-rejects RG88 were frequently on sale for $160ish/box ;)

Yeah, these seem to be coming down a bit recently. I guess these haven't moved that quickly towards the end. The pricing on them was atrocious to be sure. I don't know what HSA was thinking, although they will probably all move in the end.

The RA Nuevo Mundo can be had for less and that one just hit the shelves, is a much more popular marca and vitola and a Costa Rica release is a much less accessible region than Asia.

The pricing on these ERs is just all over the place.
