Popular Post El Presidente
Do you have the occasional dream about cigars? Foxy, AJ, DrG (Pete), Gino, myself, Di, Ken, Salma Hayek. Ken didn't bring Salma Hayek. We were at Amalfi having a fantastic long lunch and post mains I pulled out a box of 1936 La Rosa " Tributo" cigars from Habana. La Rosa was a private label owned by Valencian vigner Louis Ristretto. The "tributo" is a double figurado (ala Presidente), with a simple faded red band featuring open hands making an offering to god. I explained all this in great detail. The cigars smoked perfectly in a just under medium profile with a gingerbread note that intrigued all. Foxy asked if it was seconds clearance. Doofus Mike and Dana arrived late as Dana was shopping. Mike sat down, ordered a negroni and fired up. Ken was trying to spark a conversation with Salma. Di was asking ken why he was ignoring her. Salma said she found Ken sexy in his own way. That is when I woke up this morning. I could recite that speech on the La Rosa "Tributo" word for word. I can almost taste the cigar. Amazing 3

JohnS
Rob, in the movie 'Inception' each character has a totem which proves whether they are dreaming or whether they are in the real world. Salma Hayek thinking Ken is 'sexy in his own way' was your totem trigger to wake up, I'd say. 1

shrink
Freud would recognize this dream as indicative of sexual inadequacy. The aged cigars symbolize El Presidente's concern about getting old. The vintage cigar of course represents an aged penis that is quickly losing it's potency. See the comment about cigars as "seconds clearance". The "Tributo" speech is nothing more than attempt to compensate for sexual impotence with a flurry of impressive words. Sad dream, really.

Insightful diagnosis of Rob's dream. Would the imagery of the long lunch on the Amalfi coast, now going into the afternoon, represent a wonderful life now moving on to the twilight years? Popular Post oliverdst
I don´t dream about but for some time I used to "do the math". No matter what I was buying in my mind I was always doing the math: instead of buying this (tv, chair, clothes...) how many boxes would I buy with the same money? 1
BarryVT
More of a nightmare, I have the dream about once a month that someone broke in and stole every box of cigars out my humidor. They even clean out the drawers of singles. Awful!
