This isn't a trick question where its the same box but different lighting? 🤔

That being said, I always prefer a darker wrapper with the Monte's, so I will vote right.

Are the wrappers too thick on the box to the right? Is that the clever gambit here?

There is no gambit ! :D

Two beautiful boxes of number 2. Just gauging where member preference lies

I love a nice, even milk chocolate wrapper on a Monte.  But in the case of the #2 I'd forget that and go with right.  They look amazing.

After all these years I've still never managed to have a good #2, not for lack of trying ether! I tend towards lighter for Monte; I once had some very dark especial#1 that were similarly dark and they were too far over into the cowpat camp to really get into, so... Left?

Well, you did say they both stunk good.

I would take the left because I don't really age my cigars too long. I would smoke the left and age the right.

Left...but really both are 10 out of 10, aren't they? :perfect10:

Left. But really hard to pass up the box on the right with that brindled look. It would really come down to which one has more oil sheen, which is hard to see from a pic.

Right for me. I’ve had too many bad tasting cigars with lighter colored wrappers.

If the wrappers on the right are thin and silky, which they certainly look to be, then I would pick the box on the right. I prefer my Montecristo with a darker colorado-maduro wrapper, unlike most other marcas.

Dark oily M2’s have always been one of my favorites so right for me. Admittedly I’ve never had a light shaded M2 with that much sheen. Beautiful boxes!

Left, but this kind of feels like the old blue or gold dress debate of 2015

The mottled brindle on the right, now I have zero knowledge if I’d actually prefer one over the other - I’m more interested in sweet cream and chocolate, however if given the chance at fools choice, I’d choose right
