Popular Post benfica_77
Hey everyone. I know a lot of people on the forum ask …hey what’s your favorite RyJ or Cohiba. I know Ken wants to know what is your go to Cuaba. We all have different tastes but there are general consensus within the community. It’s the reason I’ve tried the PLPC or the JL2 due to community feedback and they are great under the radar sticks! I was thinking that we can have an epic tournament so that FOH as a community could come up with their consensus choices. Could be a great reference tool for newbies and veterans. The rules are the following: All 27 of Habanos active cigar brands are eligible. Only hand rolled cigars are eligible no machine rollers. Only regular production cigars Thanks for participating in the great FOH cigar tournament so far! I realized, as I was trying to setup the knock out phase for it to correctly work you need a very specific amount of cigars for a bracket system in this case it’s either 16 or 32. Since there aren’t 32 brands currently in production in Cuba. We need to cut down the entrants of the knock-out tournament to 16. Using this well respected website below as a reference point. I decided that all global and value brands will make up the final 16. There are 10 cigars in total that fall in this category. This means the remaining 17 cigars are fighting for the 6 final spots in the knock out round. https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brands Vote for who you want to make it into the next round. You can vote for more than one cigar. Note that only the 6 with the highest votes will make it into the next round. After the final 16 have been decided it will be a very simple knockout tournament.16 cigars..than the following week 8 than the final 4 and the championship round. One round per week. The Results The following Cigars represented their marca. Also below is the list that made the knockout round. Cohiba - Lancero H. Uppman - Sir Winston Partagas - Lusitanias Montecristo - No.2 Romeo y Julieta - Churchills Hoyo de Monterrey - Double Coronas Bolivar - Belicosos Finos Punch - Punch Ramon Allones - Specially Selected Trinidad - Fundadores Diplomatico - No. 2 La Gloria Cubana - Medaille d'Or No.4 Saint Luis Rey - Regios Por Larrañaga - Petit Coronas Quai d'Orsay- Coronas Claro Sancho Panza- Belicosos Vegas Robaina - Famosos San Cristóbal de la Habana- El Príncipe Fonseca - No.1 Rafael Gonzalez - Petit Coronas Juan Lopez - Selección No.2 Cuaba - Divinos El Rey del Mundo - Choix Suprême La Flor de Cano - Petit Coronas Quintero - Favoritos José L. nKostyan
I don't quite understand: after choosing the best Vitola of each brand will there be a choice between brands in pairs?

Yep there are only 27 handmade marcas and you have VR twice - might just have to give Cohiba a bye in the first round. Cool idea.

Cool idea. Shit good eye. I agree Cohiba will get a first round bye. I will randomize the pairings using software after the 27 cigars have been chosen and then I will reformat / fix the brackets. Thanks for picking up on that.
MD Puffer
If only college football has this kind of playoff. Eliminate a couple nonconference cupcake games and have more playoff games.

As opposed to randomizing, how about seeding them? That was you don’t have, say, Upmann going against Partagas in the first round.

That’s the hard part I guess. Sales figures would be one way, or you could more or less do it arbitrarily like the NCAA basketball tournament committee. Obviously top seeds in each bracket would be brands like Cohiba, Bolivar et al.

nKostyan
Some pairs are not equal in brand level:There are different leagues, such as in the national Championships. For HSA brands there are three leagues. The winners of the minor leagues could compete with the major League contenders. The minor League winner moves on to the major leagues and starts the major League championship the following year. Conversely, the loser is relegated to the minor leagues. In the future, you can arrange an annual championship
