One of the few times of the year we can all be gone at the same time. Always enjoyable and a relaxing week! 2017 PLPC was a nice finish to a great Thanksgiving! BeerPimp Posted November 30, 2019 Share Posted November 30, 2019 My Mother has 2 sisters so they each host one major holiday Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas and we have a big family get together. They rotate them every year so they host a different holiday each year. My Mother hosted Thanksgiving this year. As usual certain people bring their standard dish. I always provide a brined and smoked turkey breast. A couple years ago I started making Rosette cookies. Which is a very thin crispy cookie that is fried. The Main menu was roast turkey, smoked turkey breast, and ham. Then you have your standard sides stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. For dessert pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and rosettes. Lastly for desert my Mom is 100% Czech and always make Kolaches. Unfortunately I was busy and didn't see this thread until later so I didn't get a picture of them. Between meals we break out the poker chips and play poker. I had a Monte #2 I was going to try to smoke but it was too cold and raining/snowing. For those in countries that do not celebrate, it is truly a weekend that begins on Wednesday afternoon/evening and ends with recovery on Sunday. Thursday is the pinnacle but the entire extended weekend is glorious. My Sunday morning ETP Oct 15 Royal Corona while watching the Chicago Toys for Tots motorcycle parade, an outstanding charity and a great Chicago tradition. I've ridden in the parade several times but today I'm just a spectator. And so Thanksgiving ends, which immediately ushers in the beginning of the Christmas season. I hope all my brothers and sisters enjoyed plenty of good eats, drinks, smokes, family, and friends this Thanksgiving. Until next year...
