The best thing I learned about smoking Cubans on a budget was patience. You'll find a lot of people that smoke one as soon as the postman drops them off. That often results in wasting a cigar. Then they try another after 1 month, 2 months, 3 months etc... I always wait 6 months under my ideal humidor conditions, then I give the first one a try. Based on what I taste, I decide the pace that I'm going to smoke the rest at. I'll also set 1-3 aside for long-term aging if I think they'll continue to improve.
