...to smoke those cigars you've kept your hands off of for months or years. Too special. Considering the current state of affairs I am a bit concerned if something drastic happens I may never get

Funny you mention this topic. A couple of months ago I decided I was done buying LE and RE so I started smoking through them every day and have not touched any regular production in a couple of months

Finally broke down and cracked my last box of the Grandes de España, this box from 2005. Glad I did, they're really good!

Beautiful. How was it?

Of course it was amazing as I'll likely never have another!

Wrapper, while quite dark and thick, burned well throughout - first point on the early LE program.

Earthy with thick dark chocolate, not much RyJ DNA. Hints of dark fruits did arrive later in the smoke.

Medium full bodied with nice volume of smoke production.

All in all it performed quite well and I'd love to chance on another a few years hence.

Great review. Interesting how the older EL have picked up in strength. Agreed that some ELs don’t have the DNA of the actual marca. Again, it may be just time before they emerge.

I’ve plowed through god knows how many Bushido, Talisman, Mag 56, Eslavo, etc.  I’m not stopping until they are all gone. Then I will never buy one of them again. I’m partying like it’s 1999.

Currently sending this Talisman to the smoke house in the sky.

Have you smoked from both 2014 and 2015 boxes of Bushidos?  Any smoking better than any other?

Broke out one of my best bourbons last night. Gonna drink only the best of the best now. Probably break out my top end sticks starting tonight too.

If not now, When?

May I ask which bourbons?  I’m a big fan haha

Have you had any of the 2004 EL?  Are they close flavor-wise?

Hit and miss those. Some quite good, others a bit vapid.

Haven't had one in a few years though.
