Boy did I love Boli Lonsdales!! I have a picture somewhere of me sorting through boxes with MC at Gerards years ago. It was my go-to cigar for 10 years.

2001 EL Montecristo DC. Gifted by a dear departed brother and Navy veteran.

Since I was mostly caught up on my work, I decided to go for the big DC and settle in to watch the elements as the first rumblings of thunder roared through the sky, and the light rain brought out the petrichor.

This is a formidable format, a long and well constructed vitola, with a distinct box press, skinned in a dark coffee colored maduro wrapper.

First few draws gave me a delicious aroma of prime smoked meat. Body was a little light, with subtle hints of cumin, a bit of old leather. The wonderful aroma evolved to a seasoned wood smoke.

Overall a satisfying yet subtle, complex smoke, but a bit shallow in body.

Great topic. I have also been smoking through my stock of ELs since the lock-down.  Lots of pre -2010 stock; some turned out to be great smokes but some was just ok like this one. It was a smooth but feels like lost its punch over the years,

Here's one in the original vein of the post. Had this box 10 years on now. Smoked through a couple more boxes in the past, those long gone.

One of the last left in Germany when I bought this one.

Sealed since arrival. Hoping they're in good condition still. Plume can be a bitch and you never know when it might strike!

Smoked almost the full box over the last few months. Nice afternoon cigar with coffee. On balance, I would take a Hoyo Petit Robusto over this.

I was gifted one of these like ten years ago. Didn’t smoke it until this summer. It was hopelessly plugged sadly. The flavors i did get were delicious though! Beautiful box!

This thread inspired me to light up a LGC MDO no.2. I’m down to less than 10 from a 2013 box. I’ve seen these going for stupid prices lately. Really glad I have this cigar to enjoy.

Highlights from the last week.  Still too hot to smoke more than 1/2 per week, but only a month or two left of the heat.  Looking forward to cooler temps and more smoking.

true a lot of cigars I would never get close to. 
luckily we can see them here and a BOTL or SOTL have so much fun with it and shares it with us. 
 

If it wasn’t so complicated and expensive during COVID to ship to the USA we could figure something out. May be we could do that when steam will be out?

My son is in Denver so we'll have to have a smoke or two next time I get that way @VKUTT (who knows when?).

Smoking a Punch Super Robusto from 2006.  It’s smoking slowly as it’s slightly overfilled.  I don’t get a lot of smoke but the flavours are there. I’m uncertain if this is classic Punch or not.  It’s a cigar.  Is it a good cigar?  Yes.  Is it a great cigar?  I don’t think I could argue that.  ...have many more so will probably leave these another 14 years or so.
