Popular Post BeerPimp
These weekend reviews always get me excited to sit down and really focus on the experience of smoking a cigar. It rained pretty much all day Saturday so I was glad to see the sun out today. This was from a quarter box I picked up. I haven't smoked a ton of PSD4's. They are not my favorite flavor profile but I definitely do enjoy them and will have to pick up some more. I paired a Port from a Michigan vineyard which is in a small town near some of my relatives plus a side of Whistle Pig Rye. I don't drink a ton of Rye's but there is definitely a space in my liquor cabinet for one. After I cut it cold draw was light tobacco and cream. The draw was a little tight. The foot was a little beat up but the rest of the wrapper was good and it had a decent sheen. 1st third I get light tobacco and some paprika. I would say it is mild to medium. 2nd third and it really starts to pick up. I am getting tons of bread notes maybe sourdough, paprika and hints of something sweet. It is now definitely in the medium bodied category. Final third and I am still getting tons of the bread notes, paprika, maybe some white pepper. But still some sweet notes here and there. If you look at the pictures you will notice my lighter didn't move. This cigar burned razor sharp and I never touched it up the kind of burn we have dreams about. I ended up smoking it to the nub. I actually did burn my finger at the end which is a first. The draw was perfect once it go going.. I will definitely have to pick up some more of these some time in the future. I give it a 94%. I was joined by some wildlife a rabbit and a duck. Which sounds like a Warner Brothers cartoon ?.
Chucko8
Nice review and pictures. I agree with you that these review weekends really do allow for us to sit down and reflect a touch deeper and take the time to pick out some characters in the sticks.
