Partagas D4 Repair

Recommended Posts

I had a Partagas D4 with a very loose wrapper. I applied some organic honey to the area and let it rest for 24hrs. This morning I decided to try it for a morning smoke. The wrapper remained intact, but the burn was slowed when it encountered the honey. Lesson learned, apply honey more precisely or utilize cigar glue.

Maybe 24 hours wasn't long enough?  Cigar glue (or gum arabic solution) might work better in general, but maybe letting a patch glued with honey rest for a week or so would work better.  I have some cigars I patched with honey last year still sitting in my humidor.  They definitely look way less sticky than they did for the first few days, but I have yet to test one.
