Post it here anyways. I don't see any rules against it. It probably inspired/started this whole thing.

Drift Away

It is light.

Lighter than this air,

This modern miasma

It rises above.

Through our barred windows,

Past the windows of our shuttered bars,

Beyond the throng of our emptied streets,

Above the silence of the lambs

And the baying of pigs.

And I drift away.

I wait in order to enjoy

The mailman comes, Will it be hoy?

he passes along with nothing in hand

itll be another day, gray and bland

wait! What is this? As I open the door.

a box waits, i grab to explore

Where could it be from I immediately wondered

It was beautifully postmarked from the land down under

end

No need for clocks, the cicadas know it's time

A scotch, a gin, what a mood you're in

Perhaps a rum and lime

With palate wet and a day to forget

your thoughts drift afar

to hints of leather in balmy weather

your friend, the Partagas cigar

My fine cigars, you inspire me to write.

How I love the way you smolder and burn,

invading my mind day and though the night,

Always dreaming about the experience in yearn.

Let me compare you to a contender?

You are more vicious, delicious and soft.

Light winds shake the leafage of September,

And the smoke has begun to loft.

Now I must away with an aloft heart,

Remember my dull words whilst we're apart.

My cigars they hail from Havana,

And smoke in a wonderful manner,

Equipped with my lighter, life couldn't be brighter,

By God, I swear it's like manna!

A time honored tradition from family to year,
A close knit community we hold so dear,
A glimpse of vacation, a mental respiration...

...Smell, cut, light, inhale,

Ash, inhale, repeat...

For nights when life has got you down,

For trips when when stress can not be found,

A wonderful celebration, idle hands in search of application...

...Smell, cut, light, inhale,

Ash, inhale, repeat...

Whether Monte, Party, or PLPC,

Cohiba, Upmann, Romeo & Juliet with an ‘y’,

Fresh and green with frustration, or beautiful aged temptation...

...Smell, cut, light, inhale,

Ash, inhale, repeat...

To our friends at the apt named FOH,

Who support, cater, commiserate

Without you we’re lost, cheers to Di, Moe, Ken, and the boss... We hope you get to...

...Smell, cut, light, inhale,

Ash, inhale, repeat...

“I’m SPARTACUS”..

A man must accept his fate, and he must never hesitate,

There has alway been a choice,
but I never ever, have them moist,

65 percent humidity, gives them real validity,

Smell the aroma, clip the end, you will never be the same again,

Light one up and you will see, the truth will always set you free..

“I’m PARTAGAS”..

Uwah! My first ever E2s - what a fantastic contest. Thanks to Prez and everyone at FoH, and all the poets who participated.

Burst of rich leather,

Beguiled by paprika

Such is Partagas
