When I was hired for the job that became my career, the big boss took a look at my (very good, if anything over-qualified) resume, stared me straight in the eye, and said "We can hire you, but you need to know we have some really stupid people working here. How do you feel about that?" I was in dire financial straights at the time, and really needed the job, so I lied: "It won't be a problem. I can work with anyone."
