but on the theme, this was my balcony at port stephens on the weekend. one even tried to land on the phone when i was trying to take a pic of one of its friends.

Great photos Ken, I had two in my aviary for years and they were from the wild when i found them injured.

Di, they really are the most gorgeous friendly birds. as a kid, nothing better than currumbin, though not so keen when they would dig their claws into your head.

Friendly birds? They look like angry birds glaring at you intently! 

Probably coordinating and waiting for the opportunity to dig their claws into your scalp all at once.

they will take food from your hand, which is a bit rare for a wild bird. they will also land on your shoulders and head and yes, sharp claws!
