Habana Mike
Perusing the assortment of bottles this evening I was inspired to try something a bit different with some classic underpinnings. 1 shot Plantation Grande 5 year Barbados rum, 1/2 shot Dolin's dry Vermouth. 1/4 shot St. George Absinthe. Splash of Peychaud's bitters topped with La Croix Key Lime sparkling water. Lime garnish. Sort of kind of in the Sazerac theme with a twist or so. Sweetness of the rum, dryness of the vermouth and the fizzy lime turned it into a very light and refreshing libation that paired extremely well with the Formosa Tainos. So good I prepared a second one.

Islandboy
This sounds really good, I love anything where lime and rum are involved. And lord knows I can use a little culture in my life....so I bought all the ingredients today. I was pretty surprised Tamura’s had all the minor ingredients exactly as called out, and they had some 15 yr El Dorado - something I’ve never seen there before. Ready for lift off. So....what are we calling it? a Habana Mike?
Ken Gargett
very disappointing. i saw the headline and thought rob has finally allowed us a debate on evolution and alternatives. apparently not. and this is not an invitation to try your luck.
