Popular Post Bijan
Cigar is a bit light for a lancero. Went with a 9mm punch. Draw was good. Not much aroma, can't quite identify on the pre-draw something light. First third: Lights up with earth. Then perfume, first woody (I don't know enough about woods to say if it's something fancy like sandalwood), then a fruity perfume like those women's apricot or peach body washes. Then I put it down for a bit while I adjust the heater. Come back and it's sour. Sour cream and onion and rhubarb. Not the most pleasant combination. Then strawberry with more earth. Second third: Earth and leather. Then earth and citrus. Perfume again with cloves. Citrusy fruit. And sour again. Smokey and woody but slightly sour. Bitter smokey woody. Somewhat reminiscent of a Partagas Connaisseur no. 1 this is supposed to replicate, but alternately either sour or more bitter than that cigar. Final third: Bitter minty and a bit sour. Just generally bitter and harsh. I eventually stop at about 45 minutes in. Draw was great, burn and construction flawless. But it had an unpleasant ashy aftertaste throughout, which got way too strong in the final third. And the type of sourness was often unpleasant. 1/5 to 1.5/5. Weather was -5C to -6C (low 20s F). Humidity 60-70%. Still have one to try and I'll revisit at some point to see if this was a dud. 10

You can very much see how this tart, sour cream, bitter sandalwood is really important to how the cigar is blended, and how it contributes when the cigar is o song, But in summary, I would agree.... so far I've had the odd one, that was i little be too tannic, or need more time. The rest however are getting better and better. the buttermint flavour is just fantastic.
Islandboy
Sounds like they’re in the “sick period” that I experience in years 2-3 with so many cigars. Haven’t sampled one out of my bundle this year...sounds like I should wait another year or so. Thanks for taking one for the team.
