Popular Post El Presidente
I love my Monday morning emails Let me toss this one straight to you guys I love reading the forum and hope you can help. I have been involved in herbal hydroponics for some time. Covid provided the time to really induge in my hobby! Anyway, I want to have a try at growing cigar tobacco and have sourced the corect seed. I know this question may come across as naive but how many petit coronas would I get from one average sized plant? is there any way to do the math? 1 9
Fezztone
I’m pretty certain I could guess what type of herb that inspired the question.
Yellot00tr
From the world he comes from, they can calculate approximate yield per plant based on grow conditions-indoor/outdoor, lighting, soil, temp, etc. They won’t know exact yield prior to first harvest, but there is a measurable baseline based on previous recorded conditions and a measurable “standard.” He would have been better reaching out to tobacco farmers though. Not sure many people here are farming tobacco. Mostly end users. It’s like asking a car forum what the production capacity of vehicles coming from a Ford assembly line is based on raw material numbers.

NSXCIGAR
I have been involved in herbal hydroponics for some time. Perhaps too long... luckily, what he's looking for is already in production:
Enduin
Hey at least he "sourced the correct seed"!

Ginseng
Well, if he's truly interested in farming tobacco, Virginia's co-op extension is probably a good resource. After all, tobacco was a historically significant crop in the state.
Popular Post NSXCIGAR
I don't know why it never occurred to me to grow some Behike in my backyard. After that, I'm making my own Scotch in the bathtub. I might get hungry after that so I'm thinking of raising a Wagyu cow in the side yard and some caviar in the aquarium. 4

Grow an average size plant, roll petit coronas and count how many you made. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Puros Y Vino
Do a search on "Knollenberg's Cigar Factory Tables". It breaks out only the wrappers and binders though. Filler would require more leaf.
Edicion
Would be funny if ten years from now we are buying cigars from this guy and his hydroponic plantation.
Chas.Alpha
The equation is simple: M/P/2>/3L2. Thus rendering (2) petit Coronas per size of plant equal to the distance between them. 🙄

SirVantes
First ask yourself if you have the right terroir. Are you growing in Fijian water? If so, the yield will be low but each cigar can be sold for $1 million.

NSXCIGAR
I wonder if anyone has actually tried to grow tobacco hydroponically. I don't think it's even possible to grow indoors. Those plants have some serious roots and get pretty tall. Growing wrapper with muslin would certainly be interesting...
