Popular Post Ryan
It's very close in lots of ways to the Cuban way of doing things. Drying the leaves under cloth outdoors, rather than in a barn, is different. The cigar rolling is very similar, though no final "cap" at the end. The farmer's (I presume native La Palma) accent is very close to a Cuban accent. The closest I've heard, which maybe says something about the relationship between the Canary Islands and Cuba. It's a nice watch. 4
Nino
Thanks for the link - very interesting ! You are right, the Canary accent is quite similar to the Pinareño accent, don't forget that most immigration in Pinar del Rio was from the Canary islands ... 2
CaptainQuintero
I don't speak a lick of Spanish but that's still one of the most enjoyable tobacco videos I've seen 👍 makes you remember the fundamental appeal of this whole hobby Any idea of the brand? Or even any smoking experiences of them? Gorgeous looking cigars.
JoeyGunz
Think I have half a box at home, one of them present's you get from friends and family that holiday there, even a couple of unbanded custom rolls they got at a market.

Ryan
Nice article here about a tobacco farm on La Palma. It looks like it's dying out though. https://tenerifeguru.com/on-the-la-palma-cigar-trail/
dealsrme
Very cool video. Thanks for sharing. Had some local custom rolls when I was there last two years ago. Will be returning this fall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BrightonCorgi
Had some great wines from the Canary Islands. Both the red and white are unique. White has slight oxidized style. Been meaning to open one of the whites some time soon.
cigcars
*Anybody remember Condal cigars from yesteryear? Those were Canary Island cigars. Then, for some reason the Canary Islands seem to cease production of cigars anymore. This will be a welcome comeback. Although not dazzed by their sticks I WILL be buying and sampling some when and should they make a comeback

I'll dig them out tonight. The box were inoffensive although I did find a strip of blue plastic hanging out the end of one.

Be interesting to see how you find them, I guess maybe there's a reason why sales were tourist only?
