Popular Post ChangBang
Smoked a Mag50 tubos that I split a box with @Shrimpchips They haven't had much downtime so I was thinking burn maybe affected, but was dying to try one so screw it! Gave it a punch...tight. Gave it a reg cut...tight. Poked it a few times with the perfecdraw and then another cut...tight but doable. Squeezing it, I found a hard spot maybe an inch from the foot, so hopefully it'll pass and open up once I get past there. Looking at it, man its a beautiful cigar, med tan colorado wrapper with minimal veins. Paired with OJ and a grape monster energy drink. I work the night shift tomorrow, so I am hoping for a longer smoke as I probably won't sleep till 0400. Excited to try so lets get to it! It is 00:04 1 - As I thought, initial characteristics were that the cigar was tight and the smoke output wasn't great with it being a wispy thin smoke. Not a whole lot of flavor off the bat. Predominately a toasted tobacco flavor otherwise pretty bland. Read the earlier review and comments and was worried about the airy bland taste that was described as this fit the bill exactly. About an inch in, getting only a woody/cedar flavor with a touch of sourdough breadyness. Ash and burn line are top notch though. 2- Around the above picture's point, I made it past the knot and the draw opened up to be perfect for me. Once that happened, the smoke became denser and flavors popped! I was getting a richer tobacco flavor with leather. Hit some sweet bread notes, which faded to a more bitter bread(rye?). Then it happened...I got shrimp crackers lol. My mind popped to @Shrimpchips...did he manage to dust it with shrimp chip seasoning?? I was thoroughly enjoying this cigar at this point and have forgotten about the lackluster start. Eventually that fades and I get a roasted flavor that I can't put my finger on. Gave it a purge and got that aged tobacco mustyness. What the 2/3! 3- 3rd is roasted tobacco followed by a roasted barley flavor. I start getting hints of what I think is marshmallow and cream...thats nougat right? Goes on for a 1/2in before that transitions over to a charred wood. Ends on that charred roasted wood note. Thoroughly enjoyed this cigar ending at 01:29 with a smoke time of 1hr and 25min. I was expecting around 1hr 30 - 2hrs, so it was right there. Overall I'll give this a 6.5/10 with most of the points loss due to the mediocre beginning. I only had to touch it up once and ashed only once. I'll have to smoke another and if it's the same, I need to stock up!
Shrimpchips
It’s not plume…it’s not mold…it’s shrimpchips! Great review! They’re definitely good looking sticks. I’m waiting on giving mine a little more rest. Should I be so lucky as to get that MSG goodness of Shrimpchips, we shall see.
