Specifically, the filler is made up of Nicaraguan quality aged seco and volado, there is no ligero which means no strong pepper and less 'kick'. The Nudies N1 Lancero was designed to replicate the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No.1, the Nudies N3 Carlota was designed to replicate the Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No.3. The 2019 were really interesting as it was our first crack at a NC skinny. I haven't been around NC tobacco that long to see how it ages. The tobacco in Desnudo/Nudes is 3-5 years of age so I had no real idea if there would be an improvement after 2 years. The improvement has really surprised me. Resting these cigars is just as important as for CC. Same benefits. They are a regular rotation cigar for me now (7-8 a week). That is why we made them originally. Affordable cigars that Hamlet and I would happily smoke daily in a format and flavour style that is hard to find today. They are no Cohiba Lancero. They are my replacement for the discontinued Partagas Connie 3 and that is what we were aiming for. How close did we get in terms of flavour? 6.5 out of 10 back in 2019, 7.5/10 today. How close did we get to an every day smoking Carlota for Cuban cigar lovers? (well it is 38 gauge not 35.....but close ) 7 out of 10 in 2019. 8 out of 10 today. 2019. Medium to medium full in body, perfect burn, a touch of mongrel with some elbows. Crackers, light coffee, stout. Fast forward to 2021. elbows almost gone. moorish. What we are trying to improve in the 2021 edition: introducing a "touch"of sweetness. If you enjoy Mag 46/BBF/young PLPC/Boli PC/partagas 898..........jump on these like a fat kid on cake. Lancero N1 2019 These have been a hit with clients worldwide. Light medium in body from inception. Sourdough, touch of sponge cake. Still a few elbows but little bite. 7/10 Fast forward to today, smooth as silk but the core sourdough and sponge cake still there. 8/10 today. Perla Posted October 21, 2021 Share Posted October 21, 2021 I can only confirm what Rob wrote above. The N3 has gained a lot of flavour. I smoked my last box of PdC No.3 this summer. Since they were both in the desktop humidor, I „got it wrong „ from time to time and often smoked an N3 and was really surprised how close the two are to each other. Okay, the „original “ is over 20 years old, but as Rob wrote above the DNA is just close. It was fun and I am looking forward to fill my old box up with the new ones 👏🏼 The N1 was great when the lunch break could be longer or I smoked in the garden Saturday lunchtime. Tough one in a 38 gauge cigar. It really needs to come from the wrapper and so we have gone down two roots. Colorado Rosado brings the touch of sweetness in from the "cream" angle. Colorado Maduro from the "cocoa" angle. The extent to how successful we have been will be known in 12-18 months as that is how long the 19's took to "settle" into their personality. I can attest to the fact there are few more enjoyable passions than putting something out there, that you would be doing as a hobby regardless............and it being passionately taken up by a loyal following, it just the cherry on the cake. This is what entrepreneurialism at its best should be. Not the dull cold hearted mining of the poor ...with a crap product, but good people making good things, that are bought by other good people.
