I think we could have done without Indiana Jones 4...

Terminator didn't need more after T2.  Predator didn't need sequels either.

JAWS = Yes 2 = Meh 3D = 🤢 The Revenge = 🤮

godfather 2 can't find a spot?

It's weird. I always have considered 1 and 2 to be their own movie and not sequels, but those are the two greatest films of all time.

For some reason I loved Tremors - the sequels are all pure garbage

Back to the Future should have stayed a one-off

Always wanted to see Norm Macdonald do a Smokey and the Bandit. The only man to be more Burt Reynolds than Burt Reynolds. I loved those Celebrity Jeopardy skits

Norm was my favorite comedian may he rest in peace. I got to see him before he passed. Dirty Work is one of my favorites!

Tremors is a cracker of a film. Very underrated, in my opinion. Haven't seen any of the sequels, and I won't. Don't want to spoil the original.

Beauty of a movie. Farley was on-point on that one.

'SHUT YOUR CAKE HOLE' has me rolling on the floor each time

Which tour were you able to see?

It was a few years back at the Improv in San Jose Ca. Took my dad. We laughed out asses off for the entire set. Norm killed.

wouldn't bond have only come up if people were not enjoying them, given the title of the thread?

Maybe I misread it as "where they should have gone on" as keep on going. Bond should keep on going and release the movies more frequently :

Casino Royale 2006, Quantum of Solace 2008S, Skyfall 2012, Spectre 2015 and the latest iteration 2021 takes it to 5 movies in 15 years.

Lethal Weapon will soon have a 5th installment.  Don't know what to say to that.

And as for Mad Max, I was good with the first two with Gibson. As much as I love over the top 80's I couldn't get into Beyond Thunderdome. The reboot Fury Road was great and hopefully the follow up is just as fun.

Unconfirmed rumors that Smithy was the feral child in the second movie

@El Presidente, can you confirm 🤣

I'd have to say Superman 3, 4 were rather odious...Superman 2 was a worthy sequel (although I can also say 1 and 2 were one movie).

Terrence Stamp killed in Superman 2,

Godfather 2 and Terminator 2 brilliant and in that order for me then ESB. Rocky and First Blood sequels not really up to scratch IMHO and include Predator sequels. I think Tarantino left it open for a sequel to Kill Bill when Uma killed an assassin in front of her child and said, "If you feel raw about it, I'll be waiting". BB v Nikita might be a bit cheesy but maybe not in the hands of Q. I am very much looking forward to Top Gun 2, just for the cliche's and the footage. Although, not really sequels, love fistful of dollars, few dollars more and good, bad, ugly. I thought the Bladerunner sequel was pretty good. Aliens was good too.

You want a villain? Get an English actor.

Terence Stamp and Sarah Douglas had all the best lines. And I'm not afraid to say, I had a crush on Sarah Douglas as Ursa when I was a kid. 😍

That actually brings up another interesting topic of what are the best/worst movie adaptions of books. While twilight wasn't aimed at my demographic I think they did a good job compared to the books. I couldn't make it past book 1, but watched all the movies for some reason.

On the other hand I read the Lord of the rings but wasn't crazy about any of the movies.

I read all the Harry Potter books, but again wasn't crazy about the movies. I wasn't that crazy about the books either (though I think books 5 and 6 were good).

To me in general novellas do very well as movie adaptations. I think Fight Club and the Shawshank Redemption were definitely better as movies than as books.

I've heard it said that death in Venice was similar.

Speaking of books, Wiseguy/Goodfellas and After Hours/Carlito's Way were good adaptations
