Thank you for the great photos. Never visited Santiago de Cuba so much appreciated. I love the old cars in Cuba...I took a few pics of them myself when I was there, lol.

The cake must be one of the reputedly inedible offical birthday cakes I was told of?

I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud or devils advocate... but the day the embargo ends will be the beginning of Cuba never looking the same again. You would have to get there quick to see it as it is shown in those photos.

It wouldn't be long till you saw McDonald's and Starbucks on every corner.

Oh, and great pics by the photographer!

Hi El Prez,

On the market, it's not important if you win or lose,

It's How GOOD YOU LOOK.

A vous, Monsieur le Président.

That will be for the Cubans to decide.

Totally agreed. No argument from me at all. They of course have the right to choose which way they go.

But not really hard to predict what path they would choose... they can either continue driving their 1950's jalopies and living below the povertyline and sub standard housing in order to preserve their identity... or they can allow an influx of US commerce, jobs and modernisation to try and bring them closer to the prospects of Westernisation and all that that brings.

Hi everyone,

When we talk about Habanos, we always talk about La Habana,

the factories and their great cigars, which is cool, that is why we

are all here at FOH. Now, how about everyday Cuba, from south to

north. I would like to take you on a cross country trip of Cuba,

from Santiago de Cuba to finish off in La Habana.

Part 1 is about Santiago de Cuba, where the local cigars are

the brand "el Credito" made in the Santiago factory and only

cost 1 Euro for a bundle of 25 in the shops for locals. Also the

smell of roasted coffee in the streets, Santiago is the coffee capital

of Cuba . and last but not least, the people.

If you enjoy part 1 I'll try to put the rest all the way to La Habana.

Light up and relax, I hope you'll enjoy.

» The cars...gotta love the vintage cars still in effect.

» adds to the beauty of it all.

HI Spartan,

These cars are all over in Cuba, sometimes with

their orignal V8 or a Lada 4 horsepower motor.

But if you like, here are two real beauties.image7610.jpg
