Miami101
Hi Guy's It was time again to return to the place I love. I always have to leave @ 3:00 AM due to the fact it is an 2 hours away before I land at the park, and once I enter the park I still have 39 miles ahead of me. The drive into the park is long, and dark and you can't see almost anything on the way to the ocean side of the park. This time of the year it is very buggy so not many people visit. I had my cigars & Cuban Coffee to keep me up, and going on my drive. The night before I prepare my food, freeze my waters, prep my rod, fishing tackle, maps, and items I need if I run into issues out there such as my radio. I have learned from the past that these things are important. Also this time I'm heading out about 18 miles hoping to find Alligator Creek, and fish Garfield Bright area. It is located on the left side of Snake bite. Most guys heading this way camp out, and head back the next day. For me I'm alone, and when you head into the camp site it does not help to see 16 foot Gator & Crocs leaving into the water on the spot you are going to be sleeping alone tonight. Also this is one of the most buggy spots in the everglades. Just judge for your self: Alligator Creek camp site: I tend to spook, and always see strange things in the woods. In fact this trip for a short period of time I thought I saw some kind of hand made pole with a tribe sign on it, and a heading dead bear. What made me look was a mirror flashing light. It is a common way to send a single when you are in trouble. I use my mirror to send back a flash, but did not see anything. I later went that direction on way back and did not see anything, or anyone. This is normal I have seen everything from pluses of lights moving in the water etc. I have learned that we do not know everything, and to mind my business. Cigars: 2 Casa Mag's 1 GLORIA CUBANA not Cuban DR SR. Fish Count: 15 releases, and 10 I could not land due to size over 80 pounds to 160 pounds. Here are the photos from my trip: Full moon 20 plus pounds monster Snook. 2nd catch: by now Crocs are starting to gather time to move on. 3rd catch: looks like I ran into a nice size school. I been fishing for years to be here now. I would of killed for just one of these guys. Snake Bite: School of Jacks did not fish them to long. Photo of the location I'm heading to: Garfield Bright area It looks like I'm not alone: Bull Sharks Purpose Point right before you enter Garfield Bright area. Garfield Bright bay The water changes here kind of turns red, lots of Red fish in this area. I almost had a few of them could not set the hook. I was told to take a silver spoon next time, and I might up my numbers. Also lots of Tarpons, but they tend to kick me around. Heading back to Flamingo checking out the left side of Snake Bite looking that strange mirror flash. Gator in the water who says Gators don't like the sea. On the way home the drive out the park:

Ken Gargett
fantastic report. can hardly stop myself jumping on the next flight. they have seen crocs many, many miules out to sea in north qld so no reason they would not be doing the same, your side of the pond. those bull sharks are bastards. behind tigers, probably the most evil of all sharks. i remember a documentary on bull sharks (which included that idiot 'expert' having half his leg chewed off when he was in the middle of a school telling the camera there was no problem), that named the two places in the world where they are most prolific as cuba and the brisbane river - was actually filming on the river outside a mate's place as he said it! but they are widespread - i remember a local shark expert telling me stories of some soldiers in somalia surfing and how a bull shark made a lightening attack, killed two and badly injured a third before buggering off. Colt45
Carlos, have you ever heard of the mad fisherman? I think you could give him a run for his money - or at least be on his show He's a cigar smoker as well. Great pics!
Rogers72
You are the real deal, my friend. There is nothing that can compare to the peace that you can get when alone and on the water. Your pictures are awesome and they really show your passion.

bunburyist
wow - the expanse of water with reflected clouds....like glass. Nice. Wonder if cigars deter or attract gators and sharks? Depends what you're smoking I guess
