I should restate, friends that don't usually smoke. They won't care it's a NC Monte (that's not so good)!

If the cigars have flown they'll be affected by the temperature / pressure issues of being in the hold of the aircraft. This might explain why your RACA was somewhat underwhelming. Give em a few weeks to readjust and try again.
