No pictures for me today, but yesterday I spent the greater part of the day with a group of smokers at a semi-local herf. The host treated us with some Korean recipe delights and the air was thick with smoke, camaraderie and thought provoking commentary. And for the visually stimulated there always was the baseball game!

I smoked a Grande de Espana to start, devoting my day to cigars 38 ring and under cigars over 5 inches. A friend gave me an Upmann Half Coronas which I gratefully 'burn through' and then came a 90's Fundadores (the same added to the NA box pass).

The Grandes de Espana is simply a fabulous cigar, and so were the others I also enjoyed. I enjoyed a couple of beers (2... a lot for me) and the evening, for me at least, wrapped up about 10:30 when I headed back to the island... I treated some new friends with some cigars and they reciprocated generously. The host got an '01 Lanceros and I opened a new 10x box of '08 Monte 5's for people to take part in.

I forget sometime how enjoyable it is smoke and enjoy a stimulating conversation with some old friends and some new ones. I had a great time.

Great people smoke cigars!

I know gurkha doesn't get much love from a lot of people, but these are really good! If you see them on sale I'd recommend them. Perhaps the prettiest wrappers I've ever seen!

I so wish they still made those. No shapes in the revamped Vegueros line interest me.

Trying out the 2014 Seleccion Privada...

Tight draw that I had the wrestle with. Clipped off way too much but it was smokable then. Flavour was nice earthiness and Graham cracker. No ammonia or youth present whjch is nice. Im interested to see where they go.

I think those age gives a lot, but haven't smoked them fresh. glad to have couple of boxes with possibility to get more.
