An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

A few from the last few ...
RASS - ULA FEB 14 - stunning, super funky (barnyardyness?) richness.
Monte 80th - UAO NOV 17 - Big, toasty, chocolate bomb. Medium body and tasty as can be. Buttery aroma while smoking. Too bad so pricey!
Punch Corona - 1995 something else. No sweetness but just sheer earthy, hay and coffee. Really nice and unique.
Cohiba Corona Especiales - REG MAY 18 - fresh - rich, grassiness prevails. Almost put me on my ass with nicotine.
Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto - UEB DIC 17 - Wow, did I ever write these off way too soon! Toasty goodness that makes me love the marca even more (doesn’t take much as it’s already my favorite
Cheers!

Nice smokes there. I didn’t know monte 80th were made in 17, let alone late 17. Thought they were just 15,16. Maybe that was a leyenda and they wanted to get rid of the 80th bands!

This box of RAU AGO 16 partagas petit coronas especiales have just been utterly spectacular. @NSXCIGAR and @awkwardPause - this is a winning code. Really really good. All that earthy, leathery, woody, slight-spicy goodness is there, and the flavor journey is just an absolute delight.

I’m so grateful to HSA, honestly, for these. This is the cigar that instantly springs to mind, and gives me a hearty chuckle, when people at shops tell me they “don’t smoke cubans ‘cause they’re too expensive”. They then proceed to walk out with their $15 rocky patel whilst i go home to the bliss of a ~$4 bombshell partagas.  I’ve given up on trying to change minds. It seems a frivolous pursuit.

Edit: @HDGSN - pm me for a link, if you see the stealie and realize you ‘just must have it’. I’ve even got a good backstory to share with you. I’ve got you pegged as a Scarlet->Fire guy, yeah?

I’m deep enough in the weeds that my favorite songs depend on the particular years or strings of tours. Scarlets were best in ‘74, but Scarlet->Fire...give me the ‘78s.

‘77 and ‘78 were great years for TMNS, Peggy-O, Brown Eyed Women, Me and My Uncle, Big River, Estimated and Scarlet->Fire

Agreed. Day after cornell is my #1 TMNS, and up there with my all time top performances.

I feel like the Keith years are such a tradeoff. You get this wonderful cohesion of the band; some of Jerry's best years; brilliant shows... and then Donna opens her mouth. I guess it's like the Persian rugmakers who would always intentionally get one stitch wrong, since nothing should be 100% perfect. I could still happily go the rest of my life without hearing a Donna solo...

Again in the Brent years - great cohesion; one of Jerry's best years IMO - 1983; fantastic keyboard work from Brent... but we have to listen to Brent's songs and did I mention how much I hate samson and terrapin? :rotfl:

Partagas 2001 Edición Limitad Serie D #3 Length: 5 1/2" X 46 Factory Code AGO 02 2002. VH Rating 96, excellent in every way.

Beautiful. One of my all time faves - not only for quality but for sentimental value. Plus it reminds me to pester @awkwardPause . I got us each one a while back, for us to smoke together. I have to wait for him to come visit me in Alaska before I get to enjoy it!!
