Last evenings offering an SLR Peru RE INCA. Was a ripping sunset to boot. The cigar had tasting notes of grassy lemon, nuts and coffee.

Nightcap. ETP OCT 15 QdO Coronas. Getting better and better as time passess. Last time I had this was with @JohnS I think last year or the year before. 

Great shortbread/brioche notes with a touch of orange zest.

Was in the mood for a change of pace today. First NC this year. I might have smoked a total of 20 cigars this year so far.

Bloody hell these La Punta are strong. Waaay stronger than the Fuerza or Principe that I’ve had. Maybe a particularly strong box... it’s a wonderful looking HQ example from LGR NOV 17. Turkish coffee, oily char, deep chocolate. It’s like the bitter and sweet flavours have both been turned right up in intensity.

Rum wasn’t great and not one I usually have as a sipper, more so a good mixer.
The cigar on the other hand was very good. Started with some muted flavours but opened up in the second half. Some nice twang that I usually get with RyJ and hints of fruit. This box will develop nicely I am sure in the next 2-3 years. Won’t touch another for 6-8 months.

I received this as a bonus stick with something I bought in December or January. I get the salty driftwood thing. Great draw and burn. Wonderful smoke!

How did it smoke? In one word...gloriously! Beautiful notes of smooth chocolate, and orange citrus twang, some gingerbread sweetness and a little creaminess, like something close to the 2011 Montecristo No.2 Gran Reserva. Good luck to you if you can hunt down an original release of these!

Spent most of the day in Montreal but now back home and settling in for a night of College Basketball with a Hamlet Salomones from 2013.

Of course I knocked the ash off and all over me just when I was going to take the picture.

Finally managed to catch up with Chris [mention=5835]ChanceSchmerr[/mention] over the last two days in the Seychelles of all places. Both of us sailors, we’ve coincidentally ended up on the same island at the same time! Love FoH for stuff like that!

 

Yesterday we drove around the main island of Mahe a bit, had a good seafood lunch on the beach at ‘Del Place’ on the west coast! Afterwards we enjoyed some cigars down at Anse Royal at ‘Cafe Kreol’.

 

 

I have spend many weeks down here over this winter season and can highly recommend the islands. There are not just high end resorts here, you’ll find anything from cheap AirBnB’s to $10.000 a night villas.

And if you ever cross path with Chris, don’t miss the chance to catch up, what a great Botl!
