Cohiba Siglo II OBM Nov 2015

Sometimes I wish I could have these more often. After smoking this today, I thought of two reasons why I don't; one, the obvious expense and two, the less obvious need to give these time to mature.

The first puffs were indicative of Cohiba, the grass/hay and sweet honey was enticing to the palate indeed. Soon after I got some coffee bean and a little spice here and there. At some points I even picked up on some licorice flavours. Construction was faultless; the ash-rings were symmetrical throughout it seemed. Nubbing this cigar was what we proverbially call a 'no-brainer'.

Still, this was just on 4 years rested and I felt after smoking it that it still had plenty of 'legs' to develop further in its complexity. I'm glad I have a few left, perhaps I will re-visit this box in six to twelve months to see how they are coming along.

Wonderful RyJ Ex.4. Unknown age but I guess more than 5 years. So sweetly perfumed: rose petal incense. Perfecto burn. No great evolution, just a gentle build of intensity, but only from light to under mid-bodied. I love the RyJ signature.

Smoking a Don Alejandro from my last box of them but it’s a “just-cracked” box so I got a few left. Got an hour drive up to Fort Collins to pick up some money so this should keep me sane during the drive up I-25.

      I remember when Rob put these up. It was back in 2016, February, right before I got sent away for 3 years, and I remember his description of “golden toast “ AND it was a two-box offer so I jumped on it. So while I was away, my brother tended my coolers, and it forced me to keep my hands off all my cigars for three years. These, after 4 years, are hitting on all cylinders and it’s too bad they disco’d them.

Really enjoy the JL2 so I picked up a box of JL1’s. Took one out of my first box and it felt like it might be a tent peg so I let it sit for a few days. Had it tonight and it was tight to start and became plugged. Used the perfect draw a couple of times and it made it smokable but not a very good first cigar. I hope the next one is better.

Great cigar bar in Fort Smith, AR - 906 Cocktail and Cigar Lounge.  Put the CoRo back in the case and bought from their humi instead.  Meeting up with a fellow FOHer @Bram Smokertomorrow night in Bentonville for a VR smoke-a-thon!

Agree completely.  I enjoy the blunt delivery of that full flavored cocoa and pepper combo.  I haven’t had a bad one yet and never hesitate to smoke one. I went in intending to smoke a CoRo but due to the small number of patrons I felt it was best to purchase from their stock.

Smokes are few and far between with the dip in temperatures but this RE Asia 07 Punch Super Robusto is a great way to spend a couple hours during the colder months...still had legs on it
