There was a slight bitterness at the start and the very end, similar to what I found in the first 2017 PLPC I had a couple months back, but a tasty bitterness, not harsh or bad at all, and again, slight. I like to take notes when trying new cigars and staring off into space or into my whisky, but I kind of gave up on this one because I couldn't describe it well. It had coffee, nuttiness like almonds, very creamy smoke, kind of the same things I find in a lot of cigars I like, but much better versions of all those flavors and more. Might be the best cigar I've had this year. I'd say try one now ? Sweet, honey/molasses, cedar wood and earth, with more earth flavor than the El Principie. I have now smoked the 3 regular production SC's and I am a fan. I love this vitola, essentially a long robustos (Gorditos) and I believe only one of 2 current production CC's, the other being the Hoyo Epicure Especial. Perfect when you want a little more smoke without the time commitment of a julieta 1 or a DC. If you like a good medium bodied, nuanced, flavorful and sweet cigar, these will not disappoint !! This had flashes of brilliant flavors interrupted by predictable burn issues which killed the enjoyment. Box code unknown as it was purchased as a single a couple of years ago. All I can say is.........Wauw....simply just Wauw!! What an amazing cigar, so sad that I have not jumped on these earlier, but will be looking forward to these hopefully popping up in 24:24 !! Amazing taste, amazing burn, and overall a marvelous experience.
