Popular Post Bijan
Hoyo epi 1 Some fruit maybe raspberry @Kaptain Karl. With wood and cream. But not the good quality cream but the kind of fake/ersatz cream in Fonsecas or Palmas Extra (lacked the creamy texture/mouth feel). Probably needs more aging. Was heavyweight and didn't use perfecdraw until quite late so draw was too tight. I'm going to smoke another one and let the rest sit for a while.

There’s definitely something magical about that area. I’ve been there 3 times, but always just passing through and on day trips. This was today's smoke, exactly 11 years ago. Me and some other guys were riding Harleys through the Arizona desert, and we stopped here for a cigar. If only I had the foresight to have bought a few more boxes. Great picture. Brings back memories of my Harley ride starting out in the mountains of Flagstaff with snow still on the sides of the road then passing through the red rocks of Sedona then down to the Prescott Valley where it was 80 something degrees. Such an incredible amount of nature's variety and beauty over the course of single day ride. Now I'm thinking how much better it would have been with a Siglo VI pitstop. I think it might be time for me to plan another ride.

That flavor was very milk like instead of heavy cream. Mine have the darkest wrappers I’ve seen on a Epicure 1, which is why I think the first 2 I smoked were so heavy on that fantastic cocoa/berry profile. The last one I smoked had a bit lighter of a wrapper and consequently had far less cocoa/berry. Part of me wants to age these for 5 more years to see how amazing they’ll get, the other part knows that’ll be impossible if that cocoa/raspberry flavor keeps showing itself in spades!

As you know, I have a box from this period and I'm glad we've both 'dodged a bullet', so-to-speak.

I've enjoyed the Best Western Arroy Robles a couple times with my wife. It's on the edge of town and they have rooms with private balconies and beautiful red rock views. One of the better settings I've enjoyed a cigar.

You know, I had a good one of these last week too. Most of the box have been really bland, but this one was fragrant and enjoyable even if very mild - and construction was perfect.
