Not usually a fan of their stuff but this "Single In Havana" Guava Blonde was insane. Like eating a fresh guava but not overpowering on the sweetness. I really like those actually just ordered a few this morning as i only had one left. Hi i got 6 from our host, I don’t remember the box code but pretty sure it’s 2020 production! It’s a circa ‘07 limited edition robusto, lovely construction, perfect draw, good burn/ash, and by any standard a damn good cigar. But compared to a habanos? Not even close; like minor to major league ball, stock car to F1 racing, 2021 to ‘80s Paulina Porizkova, pick your metaphor… there is something profound missing in the Dominican taste. Which is so strange to me, as there is so much similar in the product (in many cases, same seed, similar climate, lat/long, etc), save for the soil. Just amazing. Closest I can come to is DRC to any other Pinot. Every time I smoke NC I have to fight urges to snuff it out and light up a CC. Popular Post griller Posted May 29, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted May 29, 2021 Trinidad Coloniales (GLE ENE 20) The 1st 3rd was just an incredible symphony of "twang", honey, and hay/grassiness that is in the same realm as the Cohiba Siglo profile. Excellent draw and burn; literally nothing negative I can say about it. The following 10 minutes the flavor leveled off, and was more mild cafe con leche flavor & smooth tobacco overtones. Then... The flavor just dropped off. Just medium flat tobacco flavors that were as plain Jane as a Jose Piedra (not knocking that Marque, but I'm smoking a Trinidad). Kept at it for another 10 minutes or so & nothing changed so it got tossed. Cigar was SO good at the onset, then fell off the cliff. Oh well, guess I need to leave this box alone till the holidays.
